Organisation: O F A is an independent fostering Agency which recruits, supports and trains Foster Carers to provide an excellent standard of care to children needing alternative care. The agency deals with various Local Authorities providing placement services to the Children Looked After by the Local Authorities.
Part of my responsibilities as a manager is to:
• Ensure high quality on going supervision and support is provided to the approved Foster Carers.
• Liaise closely with the placing Local Authority to ensure that all the Statutory Requirements for the Child in placement are being fully implemented.
• Ensure that Foster Carers receive regular supervision and appraisals that are linked to their personal development and training needs.
• Ensure that the agency meets as effectively and efficiently as possible, the identified needs of our Foster Carers and children placed by Local Authorities.
• Ensure better outcomes for any child in placement

• To provide technical support to India HIV/AIDS alliance supported child focused (CBCS) Community Based Care and Support program for persons living with HIV/AIDS/ children affect by AIDS and other orphan and vulnerable children, being implemented by Seven NGOs in Delhi.

This is a TISS field action project of Medical and Psychiatric Social Work Department. SAVERA provides pre and post HIV test counselling and community outreach services. It is based at Shatabdi hospital, Govandi, Mumbai.

• To offer pre/post test HIV counselling.
• To organize sensitization workshops with the young people, truck drivers, industrial workers, rag pickers, etc.
• To organize peer educator-training programs with college students.
• To carry out orientation workshops with child labourers, their employers and teachers of child labourer’s at the education project PRATHAM on the issues of sexuality, HIV/AIDS, etc.
